HOFT History

HOFT Institute is a multi-dimensional corporation that specializes in providing solutions to individuals, families, educational institutions, governments and corporations around the world since its founding as a tutoring service for local students. Privately owned and managed since 1982, HOFT has a proud tradition of personalized and exceptional service that continues today through the dedicated and caring professionalism of the HOFT global team. 

The Institute is home to the HOFT Tutoring and the HOFT ESL Programs. The campus includes 11,000 square feet of classrooms, lecture halls, computer lab, student commons, and offices. It is conveniently located within walking distance of The University of Texas at Austin.  

A thoughtfully crafted design guided by decades of experience and empowered by a premium level of service has become the HOFT signature. HOFT expertise and care is equally evident in the range of services and programs (onsite and online) accessible to every student. Individual tutoring, an accredited ESL program, a wide range of academic programs that build skills as well as provide credentials, test preparation for ESL and non-ESL students, authorized testing service/location, admissions consulting, and long-term mentoring programs show the depth and duration of the HOFT academic pipeline.  The campus, the services, and the programs are geared to work together and independently to assist HOFT clients to effectively meet their academic and professional goals. 

HOFT students can range in age from child to adult; they are enrolled in one class or in a full time program; they may be self-funded or sponsored by a corporation, university or government; and they can be onsite or anywhere in the world through HOFT online programs and services.  Each year students from over 30+ countries receive services from the HOFT Institute faculty and staff. Since its founding, over 170,000 students have benefited from our services locally and through programming conducted in diverse locations such as Mexico, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India and China.

HOFT academic and training programs are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training (ACCET). 

Accreditation and Authorizations

HOFT Institute is authorized by the BCIS (Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services) to issue I-20 forms to F-1 international students. We are fully accredited by the Accrediting Council of Continuing Education & Training (ACCET), a non-profit organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
