Summer Teen ESL Experience
We invite your teen to join our Summer Youth Language Program. They will improve English language skills and make new friends from all around the world!
Please note that the program capacity is limited, so if you are interested you should register as soon as possible.
2024 Dates and Costs
Please note that all programs require a $150 non-refundable application fee to reserve a spot in the program.
Five-week programs
Cost: $2020 + $150 Application Fee
Session 1: May 13 - June 13, 2024
Session 2: June 17 - July 18, 2024
Session 3: July 22 - August 22, 2024
Ten-week program
Cost: $3820 + $150 Application Fee
Session 1: May 13 - July 18, 2024
Session 2: June 17 - August 22, 2024

Appropriate Ages
Recommended Ages: 14 and older
Restrictions: Students who are younger than 16 must have a parent or guardian with them in the United States.
Program Schedule
In the morning, students will join the all-ages Intensive English classes from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Thursday, where they can meet other students from all around the world! In the afternoon from 2 to 3 pm, we will have fun after school activities.

Parents can reserve student housing at (1) Dobie Twenty 21 student apartments or (2) Simply International.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need an F-1 student visa?
No. For these short-term summer programs, a visitor’s visa is okay.
If you want an F-1 visa for a long-term program, please email english@hoft.edu.
Do you accept all levels of English?
Yes. All levels of English are welcome.
Who will pick up the students upon arrival at the airport?
Our partner simplyinternational can pick your child up at the airport, for a small fee. Students will be greeted at the airport after passing through customs and immigration.
How will I know that my teenagers have arrived safely?
Students will have access to the internet, and they should be able to contact you personally within 24 hours of their arrival.
Can students arrive late or leave early?
Yes. However, after school activity choices may be limited if you arrive late.
What can you tell me about the accommodation?
Students are housed in surrounding areas of the school that are within 15 minutes walking distance.
How will the weather be in Austin, Texas in summer?
Very hot! The average temperature is 37 degrees Celsius (99 degrees Fahrenheit).
What should students bring when they come?
Clothes: Long & short sleeve shirts, a jacket, long pants, shorts, a swimsuit, comfortable shoes (athletic shoes and sandals), plastic sandals (for the shower)
Toiletries: Most toiletries can be easily bought after arriving in Austin, including shampoo, deodorant, sunblock, etc.
Other personal items: Camera phone, plug adapter, photos of friends/family.
Study materials: Notebooks, pens, and pencils
Airport Safe Items: Please avoid bringing certain foods and snacks to avoid any unwanted fees
